About the role
You will serve as Supervisory IT Specialist (PLCYPLN) in the Plans, Programs and Requirements Dept (N5/N8) at Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Atlantic (NCTAMS LANT).
You will provide leadership and direction to the workforce – ensuring clear expectations in execution of duties.
You will plan, organize, direct and coordinate the programs and functions of the Department by developing goals and strategies to support and advance state-of-the-art Command Control Communications Computers and Intelligence (C4I) systems.
You will direct personnel in N9 department (External Support Department for base communications) as well as N5 department to work together with users to validate telecommunication/phone circuits are in use and required.
You will interview and select candidates for senior positions, review selections recommended and initiate personnel actions.
You will identify developmental training needs of staff and make provisions for such training.
You will develop, collect and evaluate requirements to review conceptual design of communications system's configuration to meet current and future mission requirements including contingency planning.
You will perform and evaluate technical engineering designs and the final acceptance or approval of technical and contractual submission provided by others.
You will provide decisions on issues, problems and unusual technical situations involving policy and interpretation of conflicting standards, regulations and procedures.
You will provide policy guidance for implementation actions to include allocation requests for government owned or leased assets, issuance of leasing orders for commercial asset installation planning, phasing, testing, cutover and acceptance.
You will provide guidance on telecommunications circuit accounting as well as billing processes and associated database systems.
