Duties

You will be responsible for certification of Naval Special Emphasis Program (NSEP) material to include Level 1, Scope of Certification (SOC), Fly-By-Wire, for all submarine and surface fleet activities.,You will work alongside other Machined Parts Inspectors, demonstrating proper work/inspection methods.,You will perform tracking contract progress and shipping materials to the vendor site to perform the next off site inspection which includes communicating with DCMA and the vendor to set up the inspections.,You will assure safety requirements are followed, including proper use of tools and equipment.,You will serve as primary on-site inspection representative in the absence of the foreman.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to Inspect as a Machinist Inspector , WG-3414-12 while performing the following duties: Demonstrating thorough knowledge of, and skill in, non-nuclear machined parts inspection processes. Reviewing job orders and other work authorization and/or work description documents and ensuring required technical procedures, plans, blueprints, materials and tools are available. Reviewing work status in progress and when completed to ensure instructions on inspection sequence and deadlines have been met. Working alongside other Machined Parts Inspectors, demonstrating proper work/inspection methods. Primary duties are performed inside in a well-lit, shop type work environment but could be outdoors, in all types of weather conditions. Incumbent could be exposed to extreme cold or heat, smoke, dust, noise, fumes, poor illumination, unpleasant odors and dampness on a daily basis. May be required to wear protective clothing and equipment that could be heavy, awkward and uncomfortable. Frequently, may be exposed to the possibility of cuts, bruises, and broken bones. May be required to work in nuclear areas for short periods of time.
