Duties
You will serve as criminal investigative analyst to ensure timely and accurate delivery of criminal investigative data on issues directly or indirectly impacting the agency, Department of Defense and the Nation.,You will conduct comprehensive database checks using a variety of law enforcement, government, DOD, and commercial databases and document your work appropriately.,You will use statistical analysis and basic time-line analysis to view, evaluate, and draw conclusions regarding patterns of crime and publish criminal intelligence products.,You will research and analyze investigative reports, placing the facts in proper relationship, evaluating information and preparing comprehensive analytical products based on available data.,You will process and analyze large volumes of law enforcement and criminal investigative information from a wide range of sources using creative techniques for unusual problems not resolvable by routine methods.,You will Identify trends and patterns to fulfill data calls, support annual assessments and assist in special topical studies in support of the NCIS mission and DON/Department of Defense (DoD) programs.,You will conduct liaison with representatives of other law enforcement agencies.
Qualifications
GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Researching and analyzing investigative reports; Evaluating investigative information and preparing comprehensive analytical data Preparing statistical and narrative reports from investigative reports; AND Conducting liaison with representatives of other law enforcement agencies. GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting with researching and analyzing investigative reports; Assisting with evaluating investigative information and preparing comprehensive analytical data; Assisting with prepares statistical and narrative report from investigative report. Education
For the GS-11: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M., if related A transcript must be submitted with your application if qualifying using education. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
