Duties
Prepares and serves meals to meet CACFP and Air Force requirements. Using a full range of quantity cooking procedures from USDA recipes and menus provided by the Child Development Center Director, prepares such foods as meats, vegetables, fresh fruits, casseroles, and baked goods. Uses the Food Buying Guide to ensure sufficient foods are prepared for all meals, snacks, and special activities. Assists Child Development Center Director in purchasing and ordering food at the Commissary and prime vendors. Prepares daily food report of all foods prepared for each meal and snack and submits report to Child Development Center Director. Services meals to each activity room in a timely manner according to schedule supplied by Director. Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen as required by Military Public Standards. Attends sate training sessions and Center staff meetings as required. Assists in ordering food, purchasing and preparing food for parent activities, special activities, and weekly food projects. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have progressive experience in quantity cooking and baking such as in a children's home, hospital, nursing home, or institution. Must be familiar with the nutritional requirements of young children and the proper preparations of meals IAW USDA and AF regulations. Show experience to keep accurate daily records and inventories. Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently, and lift up to 50 pounds, Must have current immunizations and a physical is required. A current valid driver's license is required. Must be able to obtain satisfactory completion of National Agency Check, State Criminal History Repository Check, and Installation Records Check This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. Must prepare all foods in accordance with Air Force and USDA guidelines. Must be accurate in quantity and quality of foods served. Keep accurate records as required by regulations. Submit all records on a timely basis. Demonstrate the ability to purchase foods and supplies in an economical and timely manner. Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
