SCADA Support Specialist
The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is seeking SCADA Support Specialists to join our team. As a SCADA Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for the SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems that are critical to the operations of DEP's water and wastewater treatment facilities.
The key responsibilities of the SCADA Support Specialist include:
- Monitoring and troubleshooting SCADA systems to ensure reliable operation
- Performing software and hardware maintenance, upgrades, and enhancements to SCADA systems
- Developing and implementing SCADA system modifications and enhancements to improve functionality and efficiency
- Providing technical support and training to SCADA system users
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve SCADA-related issues
- Maintaining detailed documentation and records of SCADA system configurations, changes, and support activities
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in SCADA system support and maintenance
- Strong understanding of SCADA system architecture, protocols, and communication networks
- Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as PLC ladder logic, HMI/SCADA software, and SQL
- Familiarity with water/wastewater treatment processes and control systems
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
This is a full-time position and is based in either the Bronx or Queens. The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $85,000 per year.
