Duties

Develop requirements and reviews plans and specifications for maintenance of systems to include inspecting, servicing, and testing.,Schedule and/or conduct recurring and special inspections of building systems and equipment to eliminate or minimize failures.,Advise Health Care officials of equipment limitations and potential for increased capability by modification or replacement.,Report to the contracting officer recurring deficiencies in the contractor's work.,Resolve equipment failures or unsatisfactory performance problems with the contractor(s) and/or support agencies.,Serve as liaison between contractors and contracting offices at the MTF and Corps of Engineers.

Basic Requirement for Engineering Technician: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes maintaining and repairing equipment in a medical facility, inspecting equipment for deficiencies, and utilizing an automated system to maintain equipment records. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09) Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
