About the role

Help Bring the Winter Magic to Life! The Denver Museum of Nature & Science is looking for enthusiastic, reliable, and guest-focused individuals to join our team for Magical Winter Nights - a spectacular after-hours holiday event that transforms the Museum into a glowing celebration of light, sound and surprise.  
 
We’re hiring Seasonal Event Staff to work across Retail and Bar areas throughout the experience. If you love creating memorable experiences, thrive in fast-paced event environments, and bring a positive attitude, we want to hear from you! 
 
This is a seasonal, temporary position running from November 3, 2025 through January 11, 2026. Shift times will be start in the afternoon/evening and range from 6-8 hours. Perfect for someone with a passion for events, customer service, and a touch of holiday magic! 
 
Job Class: Three-Quarter Time, Seasonal
Hiring Range: $20/hour
Work Schedule: 4 days per week, 30-32 hours. Evenings, holidays and weekends required. 

Essential Duties

  • Deliver excellent customer service throughout the event.
  • Serve premixed drinks, wine, beer and hot chocolate to guests promptly and efficiently
  • Complete merchandise sales accurately and efficiently
  • Engage and assist guests on the sales floor to ensure they are finding items and assist with purchasing needs.
  • Actively tags merchandise, restocks and merchandises stock as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar and retail areas 

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent work experience
  • 6 months’ experience in a fast-paced restaurant or retail environment
  • Ability to pass required certification for liquor handling
  • Magic Winter Nights is an evening event. Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays is required including December 24, December 31, and January 1, 2026.

Ideal Candidate Will Be/Have

  • Basic cash handling or point-of-sale experience
  • Experience working special events 
  • A positive, can-do attitude and enthusiasm for creating joyful, memorable guest experiences
  • Opportunity to participate in tip sharing with other event staff
