Location: Amherst
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm
Position Summary: Responsible for supporting the accounting functions for DENT Neurosciences Research Center and Dent Neurologic Group. Works closely with other accounting team members to process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in various forms.
Responsibilities
- Processes accounts payable for the Dent Neurosciences Research Center (DNRC)
- Assists with processing of DENT Neurologic Group Accounts Payable and acts as backup to the Accounts Payable Specialist
- Prints & enters invoices into Sage Intacct software system
- Processes weekly check runs to pay all vendors
- Works with internal research teams to identify DNRC revenue & record to correct accounts
- Calculates & processes monthly inter-company receivable invoices
- Downloads & records all bank activity; prepares monthly bank reconciliations
- May prepare simple general journal entries using MS Excel for import into Sage Intacct software
- Prepares summary schedules or reports as needed
- Assists with file maintenance within the department
- Performs such other accounting or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time
- Other duties as requested by the Manager
Qualifications
- Associates degree or High-School diploma with minimum of 2 years relevant experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office application (Excel, Word) desired
- Sage Intacct, QuickBooks or Accounting software experience helpful (not required)
- Accuracy and attention to detail is a must
- Ability to function as a team player
- Strong general office skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines; multi-task
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
Working Conditions
- Normal working environment, typical of most office settings
- Minimal physical effort, requires some lifting of files, usually not in excess of 15 pounds.

Compensation:
- Most candidates will start within the first quartile of the pay range
- Rates are commensurate with experience
