Position Responsibilities
Deltek is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Software Engineering Intern to join our global development team. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience designing, developing, and supporting web-enabled applications and data-driven solutions while working closely with experienced engineers across the US, Philippines, and India.
As an intern, you will contribute to real-world, mission-critical systems, learn how modern enterprise applications are built, and develop a strong foundation in application development and database technologies. This position is an excellent opportunity to apply your academic knowledge, grow your technical skills, and gain exposure to working in a collaborative, international engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and maintaining web-enabled applications using Java(or any programming language), J2EE, HTML, JavaScript, and related technologies.
- Support development tasks across different phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Write and understand SQL queries and assist with database-related development activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams to deliver high-quality software enhancements and fixes.
- Help troubleshoot and analyse application or database issues in development and test environments.
- Participate in code reviews, team meetings, and knowledge-sharing sessions to build technical and professional skills.

Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of Java, HTML, JavaScript, and SQL, acquired through coursework, projects, or internships.
- Understanding of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) concepts.
- Familiarity with SQL queries and basic database operations.
- Strong willingness to learn new technologies and tools.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to Agile or Scrum development methodologies.
- Basic understanding of database performance concepts (e.g. indexing, query optimisation).
