Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Radiologist, the Ultrasound Technologist performs all required ultrasound procedures, utilizing independent judgment, initiative, and technical expertise to produce high-quality diagnostic images. This role includes responsibility for designated procedures and areas, ensuring patient care, safety, and accurate imaging outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, transfer, and position patients to ensure comfort and optimal imaging quality
- Perform a variety of ultrasound procedures using sound technical judgment and skill
- Evaluate image quality and make necessary adjustments to ensure diagnostic accuracy
- Provide relevant patient information to the Radiologist for interpretation
- Assist with specialized ultrasound procedures as needed
- Support and participate in the training of radiology students
- Adhere to sterile techniques and Universal Precautions at all times
- Clean and sanitize exam rooms and equipment after each procedure
- Maintain adequate supplies, including restocking linens and ultrasound gel
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) certification required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Minimum of one (1) year of clinical ultrasound experience required
