About the role
Deloitte's Edge Platform Engineering team is looking for experienced professionals with a strong background in cloud-based platform engineering, data engineering, and machine learning. As a Senior Consultant, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based data platforms and solutions to support our clients' business needs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, architect solutions, and deliver high-quality, scalable, and reliable platforms. Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing cloud-based data platforms and solutions using technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Developing and optimizing data pipelines and workflows for ingesting, processing, and transforming data
- Integrating and managing various data sources, both structured and unstructured
- Designing and implementing machine learning and AI-powered solutions to drive business insights
- Collaborating with subject matter experts, business analysts, and developers to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Ensuring the security, scalability, and reliability of the platform
- Providing technical leadership and mentoring junior team members
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in cloud-based platform engineering, data engineering, or a related field
- Strong proficiency in one or more cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Extensive experience in designing and implementing data pipelines and workflows using tools like Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, or similar
- Expertise in data modeling, data transformation, and data quality management
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Scala, or Java
- Experience in designing and implementing machine learning and AI-powered solutions
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies
