Must Have:
Dell PowerFlex Administration Scope of Support
1. PowerFlex Environment Administration
- Administration of Dell PowerFlex (formerly VxFlex OS) environments across Production and DR
- Management of core components:
- MDM (Primary / Secondary / TieBreaker)
- SDS (Storage Data Server)
- SDC (Storage Data Client)
- LIA (Light Installation Agent)
- Cluster health checks and validation
- Configuration of protection domains, storage pools, and fault sets
2. Storage Provisioning & Capacity Management
- Creation, modification, and deletion of:
- Volumes
- Storage pools
- Protection domains
- Volume mapping and access management for:
- VMware ESXi
- Linux
- Windows
- Baremetal workloads
- Capacity monitoring and forecasting
- Expansion of storage pools and nodes based on demand
- Thin provisioning and utilization optimization
3. Monitoring & Performance Management
- Continuous monitoring of:
- Cluster health
- IOPS, latency, and throughput
- Disk, node, and network status
- Proactive performance tuning and bottleneck identification
- Integration and support with monitoring tools such as:
- PowerFlex GUI
- Dell CloudIQ
- Enterprise monitoring platforms (where applicable)
- Performance trend analysis and reporting
4. Incident, Problem & Change Management
- L2/L3 operational support for PowerFlex-related incidents
- Troubleshooting issues related to:
- Disk failures
- Node failures
- Network latency
- Performance degradation
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and corrective action
- Change implementation support:
- Cluster expansions
- Configuration changes
- Planned maintenance activities
- Coordination with Dell Support for escalation and SR management
5. Patch Management, Upgrades & Lifecycle Support
- Planning and execution of:
- PowerFlex software upgrades
- Rolling upgrades with minimal downtime
- Firmware upgrades (BIOS, NIC, disk, HBA – in coordination with vendor)
- Compatibility validation across:
- PowerFlex versions
- OS
- Hypervisor
- Node replacement and reintegration support
- Lifecycle management as per Dell best practices
6. Backup, Recovery & DR Support
- Support PowerFlex integration with enterprise backup tools such as:
- Dell PowerProtect
- Commvault
- NetBackup
- Assistance with:
- Backup configuration validation
- Restore testing support
- DR readiness support:
- DR architecture validation
- DR drill participation
- Failover and failback support (storageside)
7. Security, Compliance & Audit Support
- Enforcement of access controls and role separation
- Secure configuration and bestpractice alignment
- Compliance support for:
- ISO 27001
- Internal and external audits
- BFSI regulatory controls
- Provision of audit artifacts:
- Configuration reports
- Capacity and health reports
- Change and incident evidence
8. Integration & CrossTeam Collaboration
- Support integration with:
- VMware vSphere / ESXi
- Compute and network layers
- Backup and DR teams
- Cloud and hybrid environments (where applicable)
- Participation in:
- Infrastructure reviews
- Design and architecture discussions
- Customer and internal technical calls
9. Documentation & Reporting
- Creation and maintenance of:
- SOPs and runbooks
- Asbuilt and operational documentation
- Preparation of:
- Health and capacity reports
- Monthly operational dashboards
Minimum Qualification:
- 15 years of full-time education
- Minimum percentile of 50% in 10th, 12th, UG & PG (if applicable)
