Description
Department summary:
The Food Service Department strives to maintain high standards of food quality and services. Meal planning will meet all necessary guidelines according to the residents needs.
Job duties:
- The Lead Server trains and supervise the activities of the Wait Staff/Dietary aide to ensure compliance with all schedules, diet specifications, and departmental, local, state and federal standards, procedures, regulations, etc.
- The Lead Server provides additional services to enhance the well being of residents during meal times.
- The Lead Server serves as a team player and as a resource.
- The Lead Server completes the job assignments expected of him or her in the time frame allowed.
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
Job Requirements:
- Ability to stand walk for short and long distances most of the working day; stoops and reaches jars, lifts, and carries food and kitchen equipment.
- Contact with infections, diseases, electrical equipment, hazardous floor surfaces, and with physical impairments.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
- Must be able to give, receive, and follow instructions, both written and oral.
- Requires the ability to employ patience and tact in dealing with the residents, staff, and general public.
- Requires the ability to establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships with co-workers, professionals, residents, and the general public.
- Must be able to deal effectively with geriatric residents and multiple handicapped individuals.
- Must possess sight/hearing senses or use a prosthetic that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met, to include the use of supplies and equipment.
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday and be physically able to turn, bend, reach over head, and below knees.
- Must be in good physical health and demonstrate emotional stability.
- Will be required to lift, push, pull, and move equipment and supplies in excess of 25 lbs. throughout the workday.
- Requires at least two years of Dietary experience.
- Sanitary License is a plus but not required.
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental equivalent to the completion of four years of high school with a diploma.
