Duties
Prepare internal operating procedures, and conducts annual self-inspections.,Ensure supervisors are reporting potential security problems.,Conduct pre-screening of personnel for eligibility determination.,Review personnel security clearance forms for completeness.,Provide guidance to officials during information security investigations.,Verify background investigation/clearance levels of personnel.,Maintain liaison with other program security officers, personnel and contractors.
Qualifications
To qualify for a Security Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in, or related to, this position. To qualify for the NH-03 level, specialized experience must be at the NH-02 or GS-11 grade level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Providing guidance of policy and procedures relating to security management, SCI/SAP and collateral security disciplines. Developing or conducting training of information and personnel security. Determining suitability of personnel for access to classified information. Conducting security inspections to ensure implementation and compliance with requirements of the information security program.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.

The selected candidate shall obtain and maintain their SPeD Certifications through CDSE for Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) Security Asset Protection Professional Certification (SAPPC) and Special Programs Security Credential (SPSC) within 3 years of onboarding with DCMA Special Programs. Failure to obtain those certifications can be grounds for termination.
