About the role

**About Decentro**

Decentro is a Y-Combinator backed banking & payments infrastructure company. Decentro provides building blocks that help companies stitch their fintech workflows in a few weeks. While starting our first fintech venture back in 2014, we spent years convincing banks to partner with us. Before we could launch our fintech product (more here), we had to convince different departments within banks - including technology, business, leadership, legal, and support to get the green signal. Fast forward to today, we realise that banks & regulatory institutions find it difficult to help the longer tail of companies build innovative & compliant fintech solutions.

What if there was a platform (think AWS for cloud or Twilio for messaging) that abstracts the complexities of banking, identity, payments, lending, and provides simple APIs so that companies do not have to spend years dealing with banks?

We’re solving this pain point at Decentro since 2020. We’ve scaled to process $4 billion + in payment volumes & have 1300+ customers across India & Singapore in multiple verticals such as marketplaces, banks, regulated institutions, fintechs, lenders, gaming, and more. We are RBI approved online payment aggregator as of 2024.

**What is expected from you -**

* **Regulatory Monitoring & Analysis:**

1. Proactively monitor, read, understand, and meticulously distill regulatory circulars, guidelines, and updates from key bodies including NPCI, RBI, MeiTY, and other relevant industry regulators.

2. Analyze the impact of new or revised regulations on the company's operations, products, and services.

* **Internal Communication & Coordination:**

1. Clearly communicate regulatory changes and compliance requirements to internal stakeholders across relevant departments (e.g., Legal, Product, Operations, Technology, Sales).

2. Coordinate internal efforts to ensure timely and accurate adoption and implementation of compliance measures.

3. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams to foster a culture of compliance.

* **External Communication & Coordination:**

1. Serve as a primary point of contact for external communication and coordination with banks, partners, and regulatory bodies on compliance-related matters as required.

2. Assist in preparing and submitting necessary reports or responses to regulators.

* **Implementation & Process Management:**

1. Drive the hands-on implementation of new compliance practices, standard operating procedures (SOPs), internal policies, and processes resulting from regulatory updates.

2. Work with relevant teams to embed compliance requirements into daily operations and systems.

3. Assist in developing and delivering compliance training programs for employees.

* **Compliance Assurance:**

1. Support internal and external audits related to regulatory compliance.

2. Maintain records of compliance activities, communications, and documentation.

**What we are looking for -**

* High energy team player with willingness to learn and adapt quickly.

* 2 to 5 years of relevant professional experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, or a related field.

* Proven experience in compliance work, specifically handling regulatory interactions and demonstrating a strong understanding of regulatory circulars and guidelines—particularly those issued by NPCI, RBI, MeiTY, or other financial regulators.

* A Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or a related legal field is highly desirable.

* Exceptional ability to read, interpret, and summarize complex regulatory documents.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

* Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

* Capacity to coordinate and manage multiple tasks and stakeholders simultaneously.

* Highly detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy.

* Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate effectively in a team environment.

* Proficiency in standard office tools like the Microsoft Office Suite.

**What we offer -**

* The ability for you to make an impact and lay a foundation for the upcoming fin-tech innovations across the globe.

* A multicultural and diverse team of colleagues from different Asian countries that speak on average 3 global languages.

* Progressive and flexible work hours that match your personality and lifestyle.
