Position Overview We're looking for a detail-oriented and resourceful Web Developer Intern to support the overhaul and ongoing development of our website and digital presence. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving front-end problems, structuring content, and building user-friendly interfaces. You'll gain hands-on experience working with modern web development tools and frameworks in a high-tech, defense-focused AI environment. This unpaid internship is best suited for students or recent graduates aiming to sharpen their skills in front-end web development, responsive design, and content-driven web architecture, while building a portfolio with real-world impact. Key Responsibilities Redesign and build out Deca Defense's website with a focus on performance, usability, and clarity. Implement responsive design principles to ensure cross-platform compatibility. Develop new website features and improve existing ones using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and CMS tools. Work with leadership to align site structure and content with the company's mission and technical capabilities. Ensure site design meets accessibility and security best practices. Collaborate with engineers, business development, and leadership to keep web content accurate and mission-aligned. Assist in testing, debugging, and optimizing site performance. Qualifications Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Web Development, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Solid understanding of front-end technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript. Experience with web development platforms such as Wix, or basic static site generators. Familiarity with responsive design principles and UI/UX basics. Experience using version control systems (e.g., Git) is a plus. Ability to troubleshoot and solve layout, performance, or compatibility issues. Experience with visual design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD) is a bonus but not required. Interest in defense or national security is a plus but not required.
