I. DEAN POSITIONS


Academicians & Industry Professionals with a zeal to (a) leverage the knowledge in designing a cutting-edge curriculum based on the industry 5.0 standards, (b) Instrumental in developing industry-driven courses aligned with emerging trends, technologies, and evolving workforce needs, (c) establish stronger industry connect to promote knowledge exchange, innovation, and practical application of academic research and (d) provide requisite skills for students in job placements and equip them to become successful entrepreneurs.

Essential: Distinguished Indian/Foreign National/NRI academician or industry leader with a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline and a minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in industry, teaching, and research at reputed institutions, or in corporate/business leadership and senior management roles within Manufacturing, Engineering & Technology, or IT Multinational Corporations (MNCs).

1. Dean - School of Computer Science and Technology


Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering / Information Technology, specialized in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning / Data Science & Big Data / Cybersecurity / Cloud Computing / Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology / Quantum Computing / Internet of Things (IoT) / 5G & Edge Computing / Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) & UX Design, with a proven track record of leadership in the academia and/or the tech industry, with significant contributions to technology advancements and innovations.


2. Dean - School of Agricultural Sciences


Ph.D. in Agricultural Sciences or allied disciplines, with a proven track record of high-quality research and publications, demonstrated success in securing competitive project funding, and a strong ability to build strategic partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, and the agritech industry. The ideal candidate will provide visionary academic and research leadership, promote interdisciplinary collaboration, and align the School’s focus with national priorities such as climate-smart agriculture, food security, and agri-entrepreneurship, in alignment with Karunya’s mission of societal transformation through applied research.


3. Dean - Karunya School of Management


Ph.D. from business school of repute in Business / Management, specialized in Digital Transformation & Innovation Management / Sustainability & Corporate Social Responsibility / Data Analytics & Business Intelligence / Global Business & International Management / Supply Chain Management & Logistics / Strategic Management & Leadership / Entrepreneurship & Start-up Management / Human Resource Management & Organizational Development / Marketing Analytics & Digital Marketing / Financial Technology & Financial Management / Project Management / Risk Management & Compliance / Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Automation in Business / Change Management & Organizational Behaviour, with a strong track record of business leadership, consulting, or management, with a proven accomplishments in leading strategic B-School initiatives.


4. Dean - School of Sciences, Arts and Media


Ph.D. in Science, Arts, Media, or allied disciplines, with a proven track record of high-quality research and publications, demonstrated success in securing competitive project funding, and a strong ability to build strategic partnerships with government agencies and NGOs. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a strong record of academic excellence, research output, and industry collaboration.


5. Dean - School of Health Sciences


Ph.D. in Health Sciences, Medical Sciences, Life Sciences, or allied disciplines, with a strong record of academic excellence, high-impact research publications, and funded projects. The ideal candidate should demonstrate active collaborations with healthcare institutions, NGOs, or government bodies, and provide strategic leadership in advancing research and innovation in areas such as public health, biomedical sciences, and healthcare technologies, while also promoting interdisciplinary education and community health initiatives.

II. DIRECTOR POSITIONS

1) Director (Research & Consultancy)


Senior research professional with proven expertise in liaising with government funding agencies, facilitating grant of CSR funds from industry, coordinating interdisciplinary proposal development, and establishing international research collaborations aligned with Karunya’s research vision and societal impact.

2) Deputy Directors - Research Centres


Dynamic leader with proven experience and track record in industry / academia / R&D / extension activities. Capable of creating impactful teams in the relevant groups. The candidate will hold doctorate with more than 15 years of experience in technologies and practices. Publications, patents, and significant project execution either in the private or government sector will be highly desirable. Capability to connect with funding agencies desirable.


a) Deputy Director - Centre for Food


Lead transformative research and innovation in food processing technologies and agricultural practices. Food innovations, nutritional requirements and sustainable practices that connect academia with industry will be of prime focus.


b) Deputy Director - Centre for Water

Lead a group working in the technology missions in this focal area of distinctiveness of the University, in all the domains of water. Knowledge in application of modern technologies and tools, namely, RS / GIS, isotopes, sensors, AI, IoT and drones.


c) Deputy Director - Centre for Healthcare

Elevate healthcare innovations and product development within an academic setting well-rounded experience in dealing with different facets of healthcare, namely, medical devices, stem cell research, indigenous and herbal medicine, nanotechnology for healthcare, bacteriology and vaccinology.


d) Deputy Director - Sustainable Energy

Lead result-oriented initiatives, drive a green energy revolution on campus, spearhead innovative projects, and implement renewable solutions. Has expertise in sustainable energy with commitment towards cultivating a campus-wide culture of sustainability.


3) Director (Innovation, Incubation & Entrepreneurship)


A Master’s degree, and preferably a Ph.D. in Engineering, Technology, Management, or allied disciplines, with a minimum of 15 years of experience in innovation management, entrepreneurship development, or leadership roles in industry, or start-up ecosystems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for spearheading the university’s innovation, incubation, and entrepreneurship initiatives by fostering a robust start-up ecosystem, strengthening industry-academia collaboration, and driving technology-driven societal impact. The role includes building strategic partnerships with venture capitalists, angel investors, and government funding agencies, promoting the commercialization of patents and products, and facilitating technology transfer. A proven track record in securing funding, mentoring start-ups, and integrating entrepreneurial thinking across academic and research ecosystem.

4) Director (Karunya Centre for Online & Distance Education)


Ph.D. with a strong academic record and substantial experience in ODL/Online education, academic administration, digital pedagogy, LMS, and learner support services, with publications in reputed journals and/or patents.

5) Director (Training & Placement)


Senior professional with a Postgraduate degree and 15+ years of experience in training, employability enhancement, placements, and employer relations in a reputed academic/industry ecosystem. Proven expertise in skill-gap analysis, large-scale student training, digital skill platforms, placement analytics, industry partnerships, high-value placements, internships, and international employer engagement. Strong leadership capability to achieve 100% placements, improve salary benchmarks, and build sustainable employer networks.
