Role Overview
The Analyst will play a key role in supporting company’s deal sourcing and investment
evaluation efforts. The role involves identifying high-potential startups, conducting initial
screenings, and assisting in detailed analysis of early-stage investment opportunities. The
individual will work closely with senior team members to support due diligence, prepare
investment materials, and contribute to informed investment decisions. This position
requires strong research, analytical, and communication skills, along with a proactive
approach to understanding market trends and startup ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead Deal Sourcing: Take ownership of sourcing high-quality investment opportunities. Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies, including outreach to accelerators, venture networks, and direct founder engagement.
• Evaluate Investment Opportunities: Lead the process of evaluating early-stage startups, providing strategic insights and detailed assessments that support investment decisions. Review business models, financials, and market fit to determine potential.
• Conduct Due Diligence: Manage and guide the due diligence process, including financial analysis, market research, and assessing team capabilities. Collaborate with internal and external experts to ensure thorough evaluations.
• Support Investment Decision-Making: Contribute to investment memos and present opportunities to senior leadership. Offer recommendations based on research, analysis, and market insights.
• Collaborate with Senior Leadership: Work closely with senior partners to define and refine sourcing strategies. Provide market insights and contribute to high-level investment discussions and decisions.
• Portfolio Oversight: Assist in monitoring and supporting portfolio companies, ensuring they are progressing and identifying areas for further investment or strategic support.
• Market Trends s Insights: Stay current on emerging technologies, startup trends, and industry dynamics. Use this knowledge to guide deal sourcing and investment strategies.
• Reporting s Communication: Prepare investment materials, reports, and presentations for both internal stakeholders and investors. Clearly communicate the value and potential of investment opportunities.
Qualifications
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in venture capital, private equity,or investment roles, with demonstrated expertise in deal sourcing and early stage investment evaluation, along with experience working with a US fund.
• Education: Engineering from a top-tier academic institution; an MBA from a leading or globally recognized program is preferred.
• Analytical Skills: Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills. Able to perform detailed assessments of startup opportunities and make data-driven investment decisions.
• Strategic Mindset: Ability to design,implement, and refine sourcing strategies based on market insights, competitive landscape, and firm priorities.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex information and investment cases clearly to stakeholders.
• Leadership: Ability to mentor and manage junior team members, as well as collaborate effectively across teams to drive outcomes.
• Tech Knowledge: Strong understanding of emerging technologies, particularly in sectors like AI, SaaS, and deep-tech startups.
• Passion for Startups: A deep interest in entrepreneurship, innovation, and the growth challenges faced by early-stage companies.
• Engineering Background: An engineering background is a strong plus, offering a solid foundation for evaluating deep-tech startups, understanding product-market fit in technical sectors, and engaging more credibly with founders on product and technology.
