Role Description:
We are looking for a motivated and technically skilled ABB DCS Project Engineer with 1+ year of experience in Industrial Automation. The candidate will be responsible for engineering, configuration, testing, commissioning, and support of ABB Distributed Control System (DCS) projects across various industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineering and configuration of ABB DCS systems (800xA/Freelance).
- Develop control logic, graphics, alarms, trends, and HMI screens.
- Prepare Functional Design Specifications (FDS), I/O Lists, Cause & Effect Matrix, and other engineering documents.
- Perform Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT).
- Carry out system installation, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting at customer sites.
- Configure controllers, communication networks, and field devices.
- Integrate third-party systems using industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, and OPC.
- Diagnose and resolve DCS hardware and software issues.
- Coordinate with customers, vendors, and internal teams for project execution.
Required Skills
- Hands-on experience with ABB 800xA and/or ABB Freelance DCS.
- Knowledge of DCS architecture, control strategies, and process automation.
- Experience in HMI development, alarm configuration, trends, and historian.
- Understanding of PLC, SCADA, instrumentation, and industrial networking.
- Knowledge of communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, OPC, and Ethernet/IP.
- Strong communication and documentation abilities.
- Willingness to travel for site commissioning and project activities.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Electronics & Communication Engineering
