Required Skills & Experience
- Perform database performance tuning, capacity planning, and resource optimization.
- Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies (e.g., RMAN for Oracle, SQL Server backup/restore).
- Configure and manage HA/DR solutions – e.g., Oracle RAC/Data Guard/ASM, SQL Server AlwaysOn/Log Shipping/Mirroring.
- Manage users, roles, privileges, and security policies across environments.
- Troubleshoot complex database issues, performance bottlenecks, and production incidents.
- Design end-to-end database architectures for enterprise applications on Oracle and SQL Server.
- Define data models, database standards, and design patterns (OLTP, OLAP, data marts as applicable).
- Create logical and physical data models, including normalization, partitioning, indexing strategies.
- Evaluate and recommend database technologies, versions, and features aligned to business needs.
- Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle and SQL Server database instances in dev, test, and prod.
