We are looking for an experienced DB Architect / Database Administrator to manage and own the complete data layer for enterprise web applications — from schema design and migration management to indexing strategy and batch pipeline support.
The candidate should have strong expertise in Azure SQL, SQL Server, database architecture, performance tuning, healthcare compliance, and reporting systems.
## Key Responsibilities
### Schema Design & Architecture
* Design and maintain schemas for both OLTP and reporting workloads.
* Create scalable time-series compliance data models.
* Implement snapshot and fact table patterns for trend dashboards.
* Ensure extensible schema design for future AI/LLM implementations.
* Decide between JSON storage vs normalization strategies.
### Migration Management
* Write and maintain immutable sequential migration scripts using DbUp.
* Ensure clean and idempotent migration history across environments.
### Performance & Indexing
* Design optimized indexes for reporting and dashboard queries.
* Define partitioning strategies for large append-heavy tables.
* Develop and optimize stored procedures and views.
### Batch Pipeline Support
* Design schemas supporting idempotent batch jobs and upsert logic.
* Implement watermarking and run-tracking tables.
* Collaborate with data engineering teams for schema validation.
### Compliance & Security
* Implement HIPAA-compliant database practices.
* Maintain audit trail tables and access logging.
* Enforce encryption at rest and minimum-necessary access principles.
