The Role:


As a Playout Director, your responsibility will include monitoring and delivering live feeds to our Spanish, Italian, French, and UK linear channels and unique OTT product. Our linear and OTT channels transmit globally, and you will take ownership for managing these communications as well as communications between our global production facilities.

What you'll be doing:

  • Loading, preparation, and transmission of daily playout schedules
  • Executing scheduled live events to ensure exact content is broadcast at the correct time
  • Managing late changes, overruns/underruns and generating an EPG report.
  • Utilising standby material where appropriate
  • Monitoring and quality control of all signals in and out of transmission
  • Ensuring all scheduled media is available for playout each day and communication with the relevant teams if anything is missing/incorrect (e.g. graphics or production)
  • Recording and editing content for fast turnaround, (same day transmission)
  • Pre-empting all faults and have a resolution plan ready to minimise ‘on-air’ impact
  • Awareness and ability to action disaster recovery plans should the need arise

What you'll bring:

  • Experience working in transmission, particularly a live sports environment
  • Operational and technical experience with broadcast automation systems e.g. Morpheus Ice UX,
  • Knowledge of file-based media preparation, file delivery workflows, new media, encoding and streaming technologies
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong communication and organisational skills
  • Collaborative working as part of a team or independently when required
  • A good understanding of the broadcast rules, regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of IP protocols and familiar with the technologies and processes of delivering IP content
  • Some proficiency in Spanish and Italian but not essential
