Join DayOne – Shaping the Future of Data Infrastructure

DayOne is a global leader in the development and operation of high-performance data centers. As one of the fastest-growing companies in the industry, we’ve built a robust presence across Asia and Europe — and we’re just getting started.

As we expand into new international markets, we’re looking for talented, driven individuals to join us on this exciting journey. This is more than a job — it’s an opportunity to be a key contributor to our dynamic team and help shape the future of global data infrastructure.

If you're passionate about innovation, technology, and growth, we invite you to be part of DayOne’s next chapter.

We’re looking for an HR & Talent Acquisition Manager who will combine recruitment leadership with HR generalist expertise. This role is both strategic and hands-on: you’ll attract top talent, strengthen our employer brand, and deliver smooth HR operations while building a culture where people thrive.

What You’ll Do

Talent Acquisition

  • Drive full-cycle recruitment in Japan, from role definition to onboarding.
  • Partner with business leaders to hire critical talent for growth.
  • Build and deliver employer branding and recruitment marketing campaigns to position DayOne as an employer of choice.
  • Ensure candidates experience a seamless journey into the business.

HR Compliance & Policy

  • Ensure full compliance with Japanese labour laws and regulations.
  • Maintain and update HR policies and procedures in partnership with global HR Centres of Excellence.
  • Prepare documentation and reports for audits and legal requirements.

HR Operations & Administration

  • Oversee the full employee lifecycle: onboarding, offboarding, contracts, and HR records.
  • Manage HRIS systems (Workday) to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Handle payroll and liaise with external vendors for benefits administration.

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Act as a trusted contact for employee queries and concerns, handling matters with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture through engagement initiatives and feedback.
  • Support conflict resolution and disciplinary processes where needed.

Performance & Development

  • Facilitate performance management cycles and support managers in goal setting and feedback.
  • Coach managers and employees on performance improvement.
  • Support career development and succession planning, partnering with global HR colleagues to drive growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years’ experience in HR, with a mix of HR operations, compliance, and talent acquisition.
  • Proven ability to lead recruitment and employer branding initiatives.
  • Fluent in Japanese and English.
  • Strong knowledge of Japanese labour law and HR best practices.
  • Experience with Workday or similar HRIS systems a plus.
  • Self-starter with resilience, adaptability, and the ability to work both strategically and operationally.

Why DayOne?

  • High impact role: Be the HR and Talent leader in one of our most important markets.
  • Global growth: Work with colleagues across Asia and Europe in a business scaling at speed.
  • Career-defining opportunity: Shape HR and TA practices from the ground up in a start-up environment.
  • Culture of innovation: A place where agility, curiosity, and ambition drive success.

At DayOne, you’ll do more than manage HR processes — you’ll help build a company and culture from its earliest days.
