About The Opportunity

The Associate Product Manager is an Individual Contributor Role, and the person should be a proactive individual with strong communication & technical skills and a team player. He or she should have at least 2-5 years' experience in managing projects working closely with engineering teams.

What You’ll Get To Do

  • Translate product vision and epics into user stories that your Agile Scrum teams can execute against for delivery of features and functionality.
  • Act as user champion and advocate when coordinating product development with business stakeholders and align all development activity with business goals and priorities.
  • In partnership with Unified Payroll strategic product managers, refine and prioritize the product backlog.
  • Working day-to-day with the engineering team in an Agile Scrum framework, you will clarify requirements, balance business needs with technical requirements, & recommend alternative approaches to meet design requirements when needed.
  • Participate in all Agile Scrum ceremonies: sprint planning, daily standup meetings, sprint reviews and sprint retrospectives.
  • Maintain a deep, empathetic understanding of the personas you’re solving problems for, and ensure that the Agile Scrum team shares the same empathy and understanding.
  • Deep knowledge of application design principles, including object modelling, extensibility, etc., and experience in applying them to build complex software applications.
  • Experience working as a tactical product manager on a large-scale HCM/web application or enterprise software product with front- and back-end processes.
  • Strong technical aptitude is a plus.
  • A track record of successful collaboration with cross-functional groups including strategic product management, engineering, QA and User Experience.
  • As product launch approaches, serve as product subject-matter expert, providing demos to stakeholders and customers, speaking not only to the functionality, but also to the business value and problems solved by the functionality.
  • Exceptional and demonstrable problem-solving capabilities.

Skills And Experience We Value

  • Ability to communicate effectively with engineering teams to accomplish project goals
  • Ability to be the driver in the Agile Scrum team room as needed to maintain team momentum
  • Ability to learn and actively build on the platforms with a go-get attitude
  • Capable of managing multiple stakeholders on the best course of action for the product
  • Knowledge in Payroll, Human Resources, Time, Integrations, HCM ERP and Unified projects.
  • Strong technical aptitude is a plus.
  • A track record of successful collaboration with cross-functional groups, both within the P&T organization and in other areas of the business.
  • Exceptional and demonstrable problem-solving and design capabilities.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Experience in working effectively within a team as well as an individual contributor.
  • 2-5+ years of post-graduation experience working in managing projects working closely with engineering teams.
  • Ability to work under stress and under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to establish credibility and rapport with Agile Scrum team and other groups within P&T.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with functional and technical resources.
