About the role:
Dauphin County Technical School is seeking a certified 7-12 grade Mathematics instructor to keep our geometry and pre-algebra classes on track with clear instruction, consistent structure, and a focus on student understanding and confidence. This position is ideal for an educator who can step into an established classroom environment, maintain instructional continuity, and support students in developing strong mathematical foundations during the regular teacher’s absence
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathmatics, Education, or related field
- Valid PA teaching certification in 7-12 grade Mathmatics
- Prior teaching or classroom experience preferred
- Strong understanding of Geometry and Pre-Algebra concepts
- Effective classroom management and organizational skills
- Ability to quickly build rapport with students and staff
- Experience working with high school students
- Familiarity with classroom technology and learning management systems
- Flexibility and problem-solving skills in a dynamic classroom setting
Physical Capabilities:
- Ability to perform standard classroom duties which may involve walking, standing, sitting,
bending, and reaching - Ability to meet the physical and emotional demands of supporting students with diverse
needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver daily lessons in Geometry and Pre-Algebra based on provided curriculum and lesson plans
- Maintain a structured, respectful, and productive classroom environment
- Adapt instruction as needed to support diverse learners
- Assign and grade classwork, homework, quizzes, and tests in a timely manner
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to students and school staff
- Communicate effectively with administration, colleagues, and (when appropriate) parents/guardians
- Follow all school policies, procedures, and attendance protocols
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
Salary:
- This position offers a starting salary of $59,000 per year, with final compensation determined by experience and qualifications. A comprehensive benefits package is provided.
- This role starts at the beginning of the 26/27 in August 2026.
