About the Department

Assists in the Culinary Arts program in the delivery of quality food services for internal and external customers.  Responsible for operating a short-order food line, banquet preparation, setup, cleanup, maintain a clean, well-functioning and safe kitchen and food service environment.  Exemplifies and provides a professional customer service.  

Schedule M-F, 7:00 - 1:30 pm 
No Weekends!

Position Duties

  1. Works cooperatively with the Cafe Manager to ensure a quality Food Service Program.
  2. Exemplifies and provides professional customer service in all aspects of food service.
  3. Assists in preparation and cooking of designated menus.
  4. Works independently to operate a short-order line during breakfast and lunch hours.
  5. Preparing, cooking, and serving food to customers.
  6. Maintains serving areas in clean and well-stocked manner.
  7. Monitors condition of equipment, cleanliness and order of storage areas, refrigerators, freezers, and other equipment.
  8. Maintains kitchen and seating area in clean, sanitary, and orderly condition.
  9. Works with student dishwashers to ensure consistent quality clean-up of kitchen.
  10. Works with students to ensure food quality and service standards are met.
  11. May assist with cashier responsibilities as needed.   
  12. Works cooperatively within the college Community.
  13. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma.
  • One year training in food service.
  • A combination of work experience and training may be used to fill this requirement.
  • Must have a current Davis County food handlers permit.
  • Must have good communications skills.
  • Ability to organize and follow through.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Requires a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends.  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Current ServSafe certification
