About the role

Datadog is looking for a Staff Engineer to join the Datadog for Developers team. This role is a unique opportunity to lead from the front: shaping how developers build, test, deploy, and debug software across our entire platform. You'll focus on delivering powerful, AI-enhanced tools and experiences that meet developers where they are—in their IDE, CI/CD pipeline, source control, or the Datadog web UI. You will help build and scale systems that offer full visibility into the software delivery lifecycle, and you'll work directly with product teams to integrate Datadog into daily engineering workflows. Whether it's in a GitHub pull request, a terminal, or an interactive dashboard, your work will help developers ship high-quality software, faster. A major aspect of the role involves leveraging AI to automate fixes and guide debugging across the development lifecycle. You'll develop systems that detect and resolve issues like runtime errors, performance regressions, flaky tests, and code vulnerabilities—whether they surface in CI or production. These systems will empower engineers to move quickly while maintaining confidence in the code they ship. As a Staff Engineer in this space, you'll play a pivotal role in pushing the boundaries of developer experience for Datadog customers, driving innovation that directly impacts thousands of engineers every day.
