Associate III - Telco Engineering

Job Responsibilities
Maintain the physical integrity and availability of the data center infrastructure. It requires a mix of hardware proficiency, basic networking knowledge, and strict adherence to safety and operational protocols (like ITIL)
- Rack & Stack:
- Unboxing & Inventory: Receiving new hardware (servers, switches, storage arrays), verifying contents, and updating asset management system. Mounting: Installing rails and mounting equipment into datacenter racks according to elevation diagrams.
- Decommissioning: Identifying unused servers, unmounting them, wiping data (when required), and preparing them for recycling or disposal.
- Cable Management:
- Patching and Labeling Copper and fiber optic cables between devices and patch panels.
- Drive Swaps:
- Physically replacing failed Hard Drives (HDD) or Solid State Drives (SSD) in hot-swappable bays.
- Troubleshooting & Testing Physical servers, storage and Network switches, Visual Inspection, Power Cycle and Loopback Testing
- Vendor Escort :
- Escort Duty - Supervising third-party vendors (HVAC technicians, electricians, or hardware OEM repair techs) to ensure they follow security protocols.
- Logistics, Shipping/Receiving: Managing the loading dock and ensuring incoming gear is staged in a secure 'burn-in' area.
- Physical: Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders or under raised floors.
- Technical: Familiarity with server vendors and cable types (LC/SC Fiber, RJ45).
- Tools: Proficiency with crash carts, cable testers, label makers, and basic hand tools.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication for relaying real-time status to remote engineers.
