Job Summar
yWe are seeking a highly experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, monitor, optimize, and evolve our PostgreSQL database environments. This role is responsible for supporting high‑load on‑premises PostgreSQL systems as well as AWS RDS PostgreSQL deployments
.The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in query performance tuning, database version upgrades, and cloud database operations, with a proven ability to plan, test, and execute PostgreSQL upgrades and migrations while ensuring application compatibility, data integrity, and system stability
.Key Responsibilitie
sPostgreSQL Administration (On‑Premise & Cloud
)Monitor, analyze, and tune heavy and long‑running SQL queries across PostgreSQL environment
sIdentify and resolve performance bottlenecks using PostgreSQL statistics, logs, and system metric
sOptimize database performance through
:Index design and optimizatio
nQuery analysis and rewritin
gPostgreSQL configuration tuning (memory, vacuum, autovacuum, checkpoints
)Detect and propose data archival mechanism for unused dat
aEnsure database availability, reliability, and data integrit
yManage backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategie

gLead and execute PostgreSQL database version upgrades in on‑premises and AWS RDS environment

sDesign and execute comprehensive upgrade testing plans to ensure

sDesign, provision, and manage AWS RDS PostgreSQL instance

sMonitor RDS performance using AWS and PostgreSQL monitoring tool

SPlan and execute migrations with minimal downtime and ris
kPerform data validation and performance testing after migratio
nProvide strategic recommendations for PostgreSQL modernization, architecture improvements, and version adoptio
nDevOps & Automatio
nApply DevOps principles to database operation
sAutomate database provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and maintenanc
eSupport CI/CD pipelines involving database schema and data change
sUse scripting and infrastructure‑as‑code approaches to improve operational efficienc
yRequired Qualification
sMinimum 7 years of experience as a Database Administrator, with strong focus on PostgreSQ
LDeep hands‑on knowledge of PostgreSQL internals, performance tuning, and query optimizatio
nProven experience planning and executing PostgreSQL version upgrades, including
:Compatibility testing of stored procedures, functions, and SQL querie
sManaging risks, rollback plans, and production cutover
sStrong experience managing AWS RDS PostgreSQL environment
sSolid understanding of Linux/Unix operating system
sExperience working with DevOps tools, automation, and modern infrastructure practice
sExcellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skill
sExperience supporting large‑scale or high‑traffic PostgreSQL environment
sStrong communication and technical documentation skill
sAbility to work independently and take ownership of complex database platform
sComfortable collaborating with application, DevOps, and infrastructure team
sProactive, improvement‑driven mindset focused on performance, stability, and scalabilit
yFamiliarity with PostgreSQL monitoring and diagnostic tool
sKnowledge of high‑availability, replication, and failover strategie
sExperience with AWS services such as VPC, IAM, EC2, and S
