About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic team remotely. In this critical role, you will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and securing the databases that underpin Joveo Ai's operations. Your expertise will ensure the integrity, performance, and availability of our data infrastructure, supporting our platform's scalability and reliability as we expand our services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database management, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a passion for maintaining high standards of data security and efficiency.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise and practical experience, including but not limited to:
- Extensive hands-on experience with relational database systems such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.
- Deep understanding of query optimization, indexing strategies, and execution plan analysis to enhance database performance.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing database replication, clustering, and failover solutions for high availability.
- Experience with cloud-managed database services like Amazon RDS, Google Cloud SQL, or Azure SQL Database.
- Knowledge of backup automation, point-in-time recovery (PITR), and disaster recovery procedures.
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or SQL for automating routine tasks and generating reports.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Responsibilities
The core responsibilities of the Database Administrator include:
- Administer, monitor, and fine-tune relational databases in production environments to ensure optimal performance.
- Design and implement robust backup, recovery, and high-availability strategies to safeguard critical data assets.
- Identify and resolve slow query issues, optimizing database performance and reducing latency.
- Manage database schema migrations, ensuring seamless, zero-downtime deployment processes.
- Enforce strict access controls, audit logging, and data security policies to maintain compliance and protect sensitive information.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to develop effective data modeling, indexing strategies, and performance tuning.
- Maintain documentation of database configurations, procedures, and best practices for ongoing improvement.
- Stay updated with the latest database technologies and industry trends to continuously enhance system capabilities.
