Role: Database Administrator

JD:
Database Administration (SQL Server & MongoDB)
- Install, configure, and manage Microsoft SQL Server and MongoDB Standalone/clusters
- Handle database provisioning, upgrades, patching, and migrations
- Manage both on-premises and cloud environments (Azure SQL, MongoDB Atlas)
Performance Tuning & Optimization
- Optimize SQL queries, indexing, stored procedures
- Analyze MongoDB performance using:
- Query profiler
- Indexing strategies
- Aggregation pipeline optimization
- Troubleshoot:
- Slow queries
- High CPU/memory utilization
- Locking/blocking issues (SQL)
- Replication lag (MongoDB)
High Availability & Disaster Recovery
- SQL Server:
- Always On Availability Groups
- Failover Clustering
- Log Shipping / Replication
- MongoDB:
- Replica Sets configuration
- Sharded cluster management
- Manage backup & restore strategies for both platforms
- Conduct DR drills and failover testing
- Windows Server Cluster configuration/Installation
Incident Management (L2 / L3 Support)
- Handle production incidents, outages, and escalations
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures
- Provide support for 24x7 critical environments
Automation & Scripting
- Develop automation scripts using:
- T-SQL, PowerShell (SQL Server)
- MongoDB Shell / Python / Bash
- Automate routine DBA tasks, monitoring, alerts
Security & Compliance
- SQL Server:
- Roles, permissions, TDE encryption, auditing
- MongoDB:
- Authentication (SCRAM, LDAP), RBAC, encryption
- Ensure compliance with data security standards
Monitoring & Maintenance
- Monitor database performance using tools like:
- SQL: SSMS, Extended Events, Redgate, SCOM
- MongoDB: Ops Manager, Atlas Monitoring
- Schedule and manage:
- Index maintenance
- DB health checks
- Capacity planning
Collaboration & Documentation
- Work with application teams, DevOps, and infrastructure teams
- Maintain runbooks, SOPs, and architecture documents
- Participate in change and release management processes
