The Insurance Information Bureau of India (IIB) serves as the central data and analytics backbone for the Indian insurance industry. The Life Insurance Vertical manages policy and premium datasets to support regulatory reporting, portfolio insights, and operational transparency.
Role Summary
The Data Specialist will manage and validate data submissions from Life Insurance companies, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. The role involves data quality monitoring, insurer coordination, reporting support, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and validate datasets received from life insurers.
- Perform data quality checks (completeness, consistency, accuracy).
- Monitor submission timelines and SLA adherence.
- Act as SPOC for insurers on clarifications and bespoke reporting requirements.
- Coordinate with Technology teams to resolve data or product-related issues (JIRA).
- Prepare operational and compliance reports using Excel and SQL.
- Support dashboard preparation and reporting standardization.
- Recommend improvements in data workflows and validation processes.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field. Minimum 4–5 years of experience in Life Insurance data, reporting, or operations.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong MS Excel and SQL proficiency.
- Familiarity with data platforms (e.g., MS Fabric or equivalent).
- Understanding of life insurance products and policy lifecycle.
- Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and communication skills.
