Key Responsibilities:
Data Ingestion & Processing
- Extract, query, and manipulate data from relational databases using SQL
- Ingest and process structured and unstructured datasets (CSV, Excel, APIs) using Python
Advanced Data Preprocessing & Feature Engineering
- Handle missing values using statistical and model-based imputation techniques
- Detect and treat outliers using statistical methods (IQR, z-score) and clustering approaches
- Perform noise reduction using binning, regression-based smoothing, or clustering
- Integrate data from multiple sources, resolving inconsistencies and schema mismatches
- Apply feature engineering techniques:
- Transform skewed data (log, Box-Cox, Yeo-Johnson)
- Scale features (StandardScaler, MinMaxScaler)
- Encode categorical variables (one-hot, label, target encoding)
- Handle multicollinearity using VIF or correlation analysis
- Perform dimensionality reduction (PCA) and feature selection
Model Development & Evaluation
- Build and evaluate machine learning models across use cases:
- Linear models (Linear Regression)
- Tree-based models (Decision Trees, Random Forest, XGBoost, GBM)
- Clustering (K-Means, hierarchical methods)
- Time-series models (ARIMA, SARIMA, ETS, LSTM)
- Perform hyperparameter tuning using grid search and cross-validation
- Evaluate models using appropriate metrics (Accuracy, Precision, Recall, F1-score, RMSE, MAE, ROC-AUC)
Data Visualization & Insights
- Create visualizations and dashboards using Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly, or Tableau
- Perform statistical analysis (t-tests, chi-square, correlation analysis)
- Present insights through reports, dashboards, and Jupyter Notebooks for both technical and business stakeholders
Collaboration & Execution
- Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business teams
- Translate business problems into data-driven solutions
- Contribute to a fast-paced, collaborative, and product-focused environment
Must-Have Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field
- 1–2 years of hands-on experience in data science or machine learning
- Strong programming skills in Python (or R)
- Solid SQL skills for data extraction and transformation
- Strong understanding of core ML concepts and algorithms
- Experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation
- Familiarity with libraries such as scikit-learn, pandas, NumPy
- Experience with data visualization tools (Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly, Tableau)
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and debugging skills
- Good communication and ability to work in a remote, fast-moving team
Good to Have
- Experience with time-series forecasting and deep learning models (LSTM, etc.)
- Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and hypothesis testing
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP)
- Familiarity with MLOps, model deployment, and monitoring
- Understanding of Generative AI concepts and their integration with data workflows
