Role Overview:
Seeking a Data Scientist/AI Engineer with 2 to 4 years of experience who can independently perform exploratory data analysis, derive insights, and communicate recommendations to customers, executives, and internal teams. The role requires strong capability in SQL, BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau, structured problem solving, and the ability to ask the right business questions, state assumptions clearly, identify trends and anomalies, and convert findings into actionable conclusions and presentations.
The ideal candidate has an understanding of MLOps, and is capable of working with other AI Engineers, Agentic frameworks and LLMs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform exploratory data analysis on structured and semi-structured datasets for statistical analysis, to identify trends, anomalies and relationships using modelling tools such as Orange Data Mining, Python Notebooks, Excel/Google Spreadsheets
- Use BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau to create dashboards, visualizations, and reports that support business decision-making and communicate with stakeholders and executives and identify business opportunities.
- Work independently with raw and business data to understand data quality, context, gaps, and analytical possibilities before proposing solutions.
- Write SQL queries to extract, clean, join, transform, and analyze data from multiple systems.
- Interact directly with customers and business stakeholders to understand requirements, clarify objectives, ask probing questions, and align analysis with business goals.
- Clearly document assumptions, frame analytical approaches, and explain the limitations and implications of findings.
- Translate data analysis into concise business conclusions and practical recommendations for customers, executives, and delivery teams.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, insight decks, and executive summaries that explain what was analyzed, what was observed, and what actions are recommended.
- Collaborate with internal teams to define next steps, highlight data needs, and support implementation of analytical recommendations.
- Support domain-specific analytical work in areas such as BFSI and e-commerce, including customer behavior, risk, business performance, and operational trends.
Required Skills & Expertise:
Must Have
- 2 to 4 years of experience in data analysis, data science, business analytics, or a related role.
- Ability to ask relevant business questions, validate assumptions, and arrive at well-reasoned conclusions.
- Good communication and stakeholder-handling skills, especially in customer-facing discussions.
- Strong presentation and data storytelling skills for executive, customer, and team audiences.
- Hands-on with modelling in AI/ML frameworks such as Sklearn, Model Development, Evaluation, Deployment and Versioning
- Good SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and analytical querying.
- Hands-on experience with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
Good to Have
- Understanding of frameworks Pytorch and/or TensorFlow,
- Experience in BFSI, e-commerce, or similar customer- and transaction-heavy domains.
- Experience working with North American customers or global stakeholders.
- Familiarity with customer behavior analysis, segmentation, performance tracking, and anomaly investigation.
- Understanding of Agentic Frameworks and LLMs
Required Background:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, IT, or related field
- 2+ years of professional experience as a Data Scientist or AI Engineer, with demonstrated ownership of data systems
