About The Role
We are seeking experienced Software Engineers (SWE Bench – Data Engineer / Data Science) to join our team in a role that centers on benchmark-driven evaluation projects. This position involves working with real-world datasets, developing and validating data pipelines, and performing data science tasks to evaluate and enhance the performance of advanced AI systems. The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in data engineering and data science, with the ability to navigate and contribute across various stages of data preparation, analysis, and modeling within complex codebases. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of AI evaluation, contributing to projects that shape the future of AI system performance and reliability.
Qualifications
Applicants should have a minimum of three years of professional experience in roles such as Data Engineer, Data Scientist, or Software Engineer with a focus on data workflows. Proficiency in Python is essential, especially for data processing, analysis, and scripting tasks. Candidates must demonstrate experience with handling both structured and unstructured data, along with a strong understanding of machine learning and data science fundamentals. The ability to understand, modify, and optimize complex, real-world codebases is crucial. Additionally, candidates should have a track record of writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in algorithmic or data-intensive contexts, and excellent communication skills in English are also required to succeed in this role.
Responsibilities
- Work with structured and unstructured datasets to support SWE Bench-style evaluation tasks, ensuring data integrity and relevance.
- Design, develop, and validate data pipelines used in benchmarking and evaluation workflows to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Perform data processing, analysis, feature engineering, and validation to support data science use cases and experiments.
- Write, execute, and refine Python scripts to process data and facilitate experimental workflows in local environments.
- Evaluate data quality, transformations, and outputs for correctness, reproducibility, and consistency across projects.
- Create well-structured, documented, and reusable data workflows tailored for benchmarking purposes.
- Participate actively in code reviews to uphold high standards of code quality, readability, and maintainability.
- Collaborate closely with researchers and engineers to design challenging, real-world data engineering and data science tasks that test and improve AI systems.
