About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist specializing in Data and Analytics to join our dynamic team at Pearson. In this role, you will be instrumental in executing exploratory and confirmatory analyses on clinical trial and real-world datasets to inform clinical strategies and optimize trial designs. Your expertise will enable the translation of complex data insights into clear, actionable recommendations for clinical and product stakeholders. You will work in an agile environment, rapidly prototyping analytical workflows and MVPs, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to operationalize data solutions on enterprise platforms such as Databricks.
Qualifications
- Overall professional experience of 5 or more years in data analysis, data science, or related fields.
- 3–5 years of practical experience working with clinical trial data and real-world datasets, including electronic health records (EHRs), registries, and claims data.
- Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL, with a strong focus on producing production-ready, reproducible, and well-documented code.
- Hands-on experience with statistical modeling, machine learning, and deep learning techniques to derive insights from complex datasets.
- Familiarity with clinical data standards such as CDISC (SDTM, ADaM), OMOP, and HL7, including data transformation and mapping processes.
- Experience working with enterprise data platforms like GitHub and Databricks for scalable analytics and collaborative development.
- Proven ability to define cohorts, perform stratified and subpopulation analyses, and establish quality assurance protocols for analytical outputs.
- Comfort working with heterogeneous and imperfect clinical data, demonstrating pragmatic approaches to delivering timely insights.
Responsibilities

Collaborating with engineering teams, you will operationalize analyses on platforms like Databricks, ensuring scalable and reproducible workflows. Presenting findings effectively to stakeholders with varying levels of data literacy will be essential, requiring excellent communication skills to ensure clarity and impact.
