About The Role
We are currently seeking a highly skilled AI/ML professional to join our team as a Consultant or Senior Consultant. This role is remote and offers an exciting opportunity to work on developing advanced Natural Language Processing (NLP) models tailored specifically for the mortgage industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end data analysis, model training—including instruction tuning and Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF)—and algorithm optimization. You will collaborate with industry experts to incorporate domain knowledge into model development, conduct rigorous experimentation, and ensure ethical AI practices are maintained throughout the process. This position offers the chance to contribute to innovative projects that have a significant impact on the mortgage sector by delivering accurate, relevant, and bias-mitigated AI solutions.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background and relevant educational qualifications, including a Master’s or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field. Proficiency in Python programming and experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch are essential. Candidates should have hands-on experience with NLP frameworks and libraries like Hugging Face Transformers for developing and fine-tuning language models. A solid understanding of handling large datasets, feature engineering, and statistical analysis is required. Excellent problem-solving abilities, coupled with strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, are crucial. Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure for scalable solutions, along with a keen awareness of ethical considerations in AI development—including bias detection and mitigation—is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive data analysis and preprocessing of diverse datasets relevant to the mortgage industry to ensure high data quality and relevance for model training.
- Research and implement state-of-the-art NLP models, focusing on pre-training and instruction tuning of large language models (LLMs) tailored for mortgage-specific applications.
- Utilize techniques like Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF) to enhance model alignment with human preferences and improve decision-making capabilities.
- Develop, train, and optimize machine learning algorithms to boost model performance, accuracy, and computational efficiency.
- Collaborate with domain experts to incorporate industry-specific knowledge into model development, ensuring outputs are relevant, actionable, and compliant with industry standards.
- Design and conduct experiments to validate hypotheses, analyze results, and iterate on models for continuous improvement.
- Maintain detailed documentation of methodologies, experimental results, and model development processes to support transparency and reproducibility.
- Identify potential biases in data and models, implement strategies for bias mitigation, and uphold ethical AI development practices throughout all phases of the project.
