About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled AI/ML professional to join our team as a Consultant or Senior Consultant specializing in Natural Language Processing (NLP) within the mortgage industry. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, fine-tuning, and optimizing NLP models that address industry-specific challenges. Your expertise will drive the end-to-end lifecycle of data analysis, model training—including instruction tuning and Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF)—and algorithm refinement. Collaboration with domain experts will be essential to ensure the models deliver accurate, relevant, and unbiased insights. The ideal candidate will be passionate about responsible AI practices, continuously experimenting and iterating to enhance model performance and alignment with human preferences.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a strong technical background complemented by relevant educational qualifications. A Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related discipline is required. You should have extensive experience in machine learning, deep learning, and NLP, with proficiency in Python and familiarity with frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch. Experience with NLP libraries like Hugging Face Transformers is highly desirable. Additionally, familiarity with handling large datasets, feature engineering, and statistical analysis is essential. Knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure will be advantageous. Candidates must demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of ethical considerations in AI development, including bias detection and mitigation.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and preprocess diverse datasets relevant to the mortgage industry, ensuring data quality and relevance for model training.
- Research and implement state-of-the-art NLP models, including pre-training, instruction tuning of pre-trained large language models (LLMs), and applying techniques like RLHF to improve model alignment with human preferences.
- Develop and optimize machine learning algorithms to enhance model performance, accuracy, and computational efficiency.
- Collaborate with domain experts to incorporate industry-specific knowledge into model development, ensuring outputs are relevant and actionable for end-users.
- Design and conduct experiments to validate hypotheses, analyze results, and iterate on model improvements based on findings.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of methodologies, experiments, and results to promote transparency, reproducibility, and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Identify potential biases in data and models, and implement strategies to mitigate ethical concerns, ensuring responsible AI practices throughout the development lifecycle.
