About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist or AI/ML Engineer with specialized expertise in Palantir AIP to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying scalable, production-grade AI solutions that align with client needs and business objectives. Your primary focus will be on leveraging Palantir’s AIP platform, including its core concepts such as Ontologies, AIP Agents, Actions, and the SDK, to create intelligent workflows that are secure, auditable, and compliant with governance standards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate large language models (LLMs) into operational systems, build AI-driven applications, and ensure measurable business outcomes are achieved. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise, practical experience, and a passion for innovative AI solutions. Key qualifications include:
- 3-9+ years of hands-on experience in Data Science or Machine Learning Engineering, with proven delivery of AI solutions using Palantir AIP in production environments.
- Deep understanding of Palantir AIP core concepts such as Ontology, AIP Agents, Actions/Tools, Governance & Auditability, Policy Guardrails, and the AIP SDK or equivalent frameworks.
- Strong programming skills in Python, with familiarity in packages such as pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, and web frameworks like FastAPI or Flask for service development.
- Practical experience working with large language models, including prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings, vector stores, and grounding models with enterprise data.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, SQL, and developing data pipelines (batch and streaming) for scalable AI solutions.
- Experience deploying AI services on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, along with containerization using Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
- Ability to translate complex business problems into measurable AI solutions with clearly defined KPIs.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Palantir Foundry or Gotham, including objects, pipelines, ontology-backed applications, and code repositories.
- Familiarity with integrating AIP Actions into enterprise systems like ServiceNow, SAP, Salesforce, or custom REST/gRPC services.
- Knowledge of vector databases such as FAISS, Milvus, Pinecone, or OpenSearch, and retrieval strategies for enterprise data.
- Experience with observability and evaluation tools like LangSmith, Weights & Biases, MLflow, or custom evaluation harnesses for LLMs.
- Understanding of security and compliance standards including RBAC/ABAC, data residency, PII/PHI handling, audit trails, and policy-as-code frameworks like OPA.
- Domain expertise in sectors such as Airlines/Travel, Public Sector, Financial Services, Healthcare, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies such as React and TypeScript for rapid AI application customization and user experience enhancement.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will undertake a range of responsibilities to support the development and deployment of AI solutions, including:
- Designing and implementing scalable AI workflows using Palantir AIP, ensuring they meet client requirements and adhere to governance standards.
- Developing ontologies, creating AIP Agents, and integrating Actions/Tools to automate complex business processes.
- Leveraging the AIP SDK to build custom AI components and services that can be seamlessly integrated with operational systems.
- Applying prompt engineering, embeddings, and retrieval techniques to enhance LLM performance and relevance within enterprise contexts.
- Collaborating with data engineers and software developers to develop robust data pipelines, ensuring data quality and integrity for AI models.
- Deploying AI solutions on cloud platforms, managing containerized environments, and ensuring high availability and scalability.
- Implementing governance, security, and audit measures to ensure AI workflows are compliant with organizational policies and regulations.
- Monitoring and evaluating AI system performance, conducting model evaluations, and implementing improvements based on feedback and metrics.
- Engaging with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical specifications and measurable AI deliverables.
