ROLE VERVIEW:
A data-driven Dean is building an AI-first leadership office and looking for a sharp, technically serious early-career professional to work directly alongside him. You will build decision-support dashboards, drive AI workflow integration across the school, support AACSB accreditation data, and represent the office in high-stakes external engagements.
TECHNICAL SKILLS— WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- R as your primary language — tidyverse, ggplot2, and a functional programming style using pipes and purrr. If you write clean, composable R, say so explicitly in your CV.
- R Shiny for interactive dashboards — layout, reactive logic, and applications that non-technical stakeholders can use. We want dashboards built in days, not weeks.
- Claude Code as your development environment — writing, debugging, and refactoring R and Shiny within Claude Code is the working mode we expect.
- Deep fluency with Claude.ai — prompt engineering, Projects for knowledge management, API familiarity, and the judgment to evaluate outputs critically.
- Cross-model literacy — familiarity with Google Gemini and OpenAI GPT-4 as verification and cross-checking tools alongside Claude.
- SQL, API integration, or programmatic data collection is a strong advantage.
WHAT ELSE MATTERS
- Education from IITs, IIMs, NITs, BITS, central universities, or reputed international institutions. Strong candidates from lesser-known institutions are equally welcome on merit.
- Global orientation and American professional standards — direct, well-prepared, and comfortable moving at pace in a high-stakes environment.
- Excellent written English and the confidence to represent the Dean's office externally.
- Multilingual ability is an advantage — Hindi and Telugu for regional data work; Japanese, French, German, Russian, Polish, or Finnish for international relations and placements.
- A portfolio over a work history — an R Shiny app, GitHub repository, AI workflow, or any evidence of real output carries more weight than job titles.
- Self-directed, curious, and comfortable with ambiguity. This is an institution under construction.
WHAT YOU WILL BUILD
- Live institutional dashboards and decision-support tools for the Dean using R Shiny.
- AI-assisted workflows using Claude, Claude Code, and frontier tools — documented and transferable across the school.
- Data architecture and reporting systems for AACSB accreditation.
- The AI and data foundation that the wider institution will eventually adopt.
Equal opportunity institution. Open to all backgrounds, regions, and nationalities.
