Job Description: Data Science Intern (RAG & AI Agents)
Location: Work From Office
Duration: 3-6 months
Start Date: Immediately
About the Role
We are seeking a Data Science Intern with hands-on experience in Computer Vision and AI agent frameworks. The ideal candidate should have at least 6 months of experience working with agent orchestration libraries such as LangChain, Semantic Kernel, Autogen, or ADK, and a strong interest in building production-ready intelligent systems.
This internship combines core data science responsibilities (data analysis, ML modeling, pipeline development) with cutting-edge generative AI work (agents, RAG systems, tool orchestration, and prompt engineering).
Key Responsibilities
Computer Vision
- Apply image processing techniques such as filtering, edge detection, and transformations
- Perform feature extraction (e.g., SIFT, ORB basics)
- Understand pixel representation and color spaces (RGB, HSV)
- Work hands-on with OpenCV
- Build and train neural networks, especially CNNs
- Use frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch
- Understand architectures such as CNN, ResNet, YOLO, DINO, and Vision-Language Models (VLMs)
- Work on image classification, object detection, and basic image segmentation
- Handle image datasets (loading, preprocessing, augmentation)
- Use tools like LabelImg and Roboflow
Agents & Orchestration
- Build and prototype intelligent agents using frameworks like LangChain, Semantic Kernel, Autogen, or ADK
- Enable multi-step reasoning, tool calling, and workflow orchestration
- Integrate agents with APIs, databases, and external tools
Data Science & Machine Learning
- Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) and feature engineering
- Train and evaluate ML and deep learning models
- Build reproducible data and ML pipelines
- Evaluate LLMs and agent performance using quantitative and qualitative methods
MLOps & Safety
- Log prompts, responses, and associated costs
- Ensure reproducibility of experiments
- Implement guardrails (PII filtering, schema validation, safe tool usage)
- Document workflows, experiments, and results clearly
Requirements
- Pursuing or completed a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
- Minimum 6 months of hands-on experience with AI agent frameworks (LangChain, Autogen, Semantic Kernel, or similar)
- Strong proficiency in Python and ML libraries (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn; PyTorch/TensorFlow is a plus)
- Familiarity with embedding models such as DINO, CLIP, and Vision-Language Models
- Experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure, etc.) and prompt engineering
- Understanding of experiment tracking tools (MLflow, Weights & Biases, etc.)
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to rapidly prototype solutions
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with LangGraph or state-machine-based agent orchestration
- Knowledge of knowledge bases, hybrid search, or graph databases
- Exposure to MLOps practices (Docker, CI/CD, model deployment)
- Experience with LLM safety and guardrails
- Contributions to open-source projects in the agent or RAG ecosystem
What We Offer
- Hands-on experience with cutting-edge AI agents and Computer Vision applications
- Mentorship from experienced AI/ML engineers and data scientists
- Opportunity to build and ship prototypes to production
- A collaborative environment that encourages innovation and experimentation
