Role Description The Data Science Faculty role at FACE Prep is a full-time, on-site position based in Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum). The faculty member will design and deliver engaging data science curriculum, including lectures, hands-on labs, and projects covering topics such as statistics, machine learning, programming, and data visualization. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing teaching materials, explaining complex concepts in an accessible manner, mentoring learners, reviewing assignments, and providing constructive feedback to help students improve. The role involves staying current with industry trends and tools, updating course content accordingly, and collaborating with internal teams to align training outcomes with placement requirements. The Data Science Faculty is also expected to participate in workshops, bootcamps, assessments, and doubt-clearing sessions to support learners throughout their job preparation journey.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in data science concepts, including statistics, probability, machine learning algorithms, and data analysis techniques.
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data science, such as Python (and libraries like NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn) and familiarity with SQL.
- Experience with data visualization tools and frameworks (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly, or BI tools) and the ability to present insights clearly.
- Prior teaching, training, or mentoring experience, with the ability to explain technical topics to learners with diverse educational backgrounds.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with strong classroom management and learner engagement capabilities.
- Comfort with developing structured curriculum, lesson plans, assessments, and project-based learning activities aligned to placement goals.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
- Ability to collaborate with academic and placement teams, adapt to feedback, and continuously improve course content and delivery.
