Role Description The Data Science Mentor role at FACE Prep is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru. The mentor will guide learners through data science concepts, tools, and industry practices, delivering interactive classes, workshops, and doubt-clearing sessions. Day-to-day responsibilities include explaining complex topics in an accessible way, reviewing assignments and projects, and providing constructive feedback to help learners improve. The mentor will contribute to curriculum development, create learning materials and case studies, and ensure alignment with current industry trends. Collaboration with other mentors and the academic team to continuously enhance program quality is an integral part of the role.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in core data science skills, such as statistics, probability, data analysis, and machine learning.
- Proficiency with key tools and technologies (e.g., Python or R, SQL, data visualization libraries, and common machine learning frameworks).
- Experience working on real-world data science projects involving data cleaning, feature engineering, model building, and performance evaluation.
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to learners at different skill levels and provide structured mentorship and guidance.
- Excellent communication skills, patience, and a learner-centric approach to teaching and mentoring.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Prior experience in teaching, training, or mentoring in data science or related domains is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with tech hiring processes, coding assessments, and interview preparation for data and analytics roles is a plus.
