We are looking for a Data Science Engineer with strong hands-on experience in building production-grade AI, ML, and GenAI solutions. This role is ideal for someone who can design intelligent systems, build robust Python services, work with large datasets, and convert AI prototypes into secure, scalable, enterprise-ready solutions. The position will contribute to Lera's AI-led product roadmap across GenBI, NL-to-SQL, RAG, agentic AI, analytics automation, and data science use cases for regulated enterprise environments.
What You Bring
- 4-5 years of hands-on experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, Generative AI, or AI Engineering roles.
- Strong Python programming skills with practical exposure to Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, XGBoost, Matplotlib, and production-grade model workflows.
- Experience in building GenAI solutions using LangChain, LangGraph, OpenAI/Azure OpenAI APIs, tool calling, function calling, prompt engineering, and LLM orchestration.
- Practical understanding of RAG pipelines, embedding models, vector search, semantic retrieval, and context-aware knowledge injection.
- Good exposure to NL-to-SQL, analytics automation, schema-aware retrieval, SQL validation, and business-facing data query systems.
- Ability to work with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle, including SQL query design and data analysis.
- Experience in developing backend APIs using FastAPI or similar frameworks to support AI/ML inference and analytics workflows.
- Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Linux, and deployment practices for production AI/ML applications.
- Strong understanding of model performance, observability, governance, security, and responsible AI practices, especially in enterprise or BFSI contexts.
- Good communication skills with the ability to explain AI/ML outputs, risks, and recommendations to technical and business stakeholders.
Desired Skills
- Experience with RedisStack, RedisVL, RediSearch, FAISS, Chroma, or similar vector/retrieval platforms.
- Exposure to LangSmith or similar tracing/observability tools for debugging LLM workflows.
- Experience in building autonomous or multi-agent systems using graph-based or tool-driven architectures.
- Knowledge of banking, risk, compliance, fraud analytics, financial KPIs, or regulated data environments.
- Understanding of secure AI architecture, read-only SQL enforcement, policy-aware context injection, and hallucination control mechanisms.
- Exposure to cloud services, CI/CD pipelines, and scalable MLOps/LLMOps practices will be an added advantage.
Your Role
As a
Data Science Engineer, you will
- Design, develop, and deploy AI, ML, and GenAI solutions across Lera's product and client implementation ecosystem.
- Build RAG pipelines, NL-to-SQL agents, intelligent assistants, and data science models that solve real business problems.
- Develop schema-aware, policy-aware, and context-aware AI workflows to improve accuracy, reliability, and governance of LLM outputs.
- Create Python/FastAPI services to integrate AI models, retrieval systems, analytics engines, and enterprise applications.
- Work with large structured and unstructured datasets for feature engineering, model development, evaluation, and insight generation.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, data, and domain teams to convert business requirements into scalable AI solution designs.
- Implement model validation, SQL validation, guardrails, observability, logging, and performance monitoring for production AI systems.
- Create visualizations, summaries, and business-friendly analytics outputs using Python and relevant visualization libraries.
- Support deployment and operationalization of AI services using Docker, Kubernetes, and modern engineering practices.
- Continuously explore emerging GenAI, agentic AI, and LLM engineering practices to strengthen Lera's AI-led product capabilities.
