About Position:
The Backup & Disaster Recovery Engineer (L2) will support day‑to‑day backup and disaster recovery operations across AWS environments. This role focuses on executing runbook-driven tasks, handling L2 incidents, supporting DR drills, and working closely with cloud, OS, and application teams to ensure backup reliability, DR readiness, and SLA compliance. The position requires strong troubleshooting skills, familiarity with AWS services, and the ability to operate effectively in a 24×7 rotational support environment.

What You'll Do:
- Support AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery (AWS DRS/ERS) for production and non-production environments
- Execute scheduled backups, restores, DR drills, and failback activities per SOPs and runbooks
- Troubleshoot L2‑level DR incidents, replication issues, and failed restore tasks
- Assist in cross‑account and cross‑region AWS DR deployments under guidance
- Monitor DR alerts, perform routine health checks, and take corrective actions
- Support DR validation, documentation updates, and test evidence maintenance
- Collaborate with cloud, OS, and application teams during backup and recovery operations
- Escalate complex issues to L3 teams with proper analysis and documentation
- Participate in 24×7 rotational support and contribute to go-live and critical support tasks
Expertise You'll Bring:
- Hands-on experience or strong exposure to AWS DRS/ERS
- Working knowledge of AWS EC2, EBS, IAM, VPC, and related services
- Experience supporting Windows and Linux environments
- Basic scripting knowledge in Python or PowerShell (modify/read scripts)
- Understanding of backup, restore, and disaster recovery concepts
- Strong troubleshooting and incident-handling skills
- Good documentation, communication, and teamwork skills
