Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Quality Engineer to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data across our systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python, SQL, DBT, ETL processes, and Data Governance frameworks, and will play a key role in building and maintaining high-quality data pipelines and validation systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement data quality checks and validation frameworks across data pipelines
- Develop and maintain ETL workflows to ensure reliable data ingestion and transformation
- Use Python and SQL to analyze datasets, identify anomalies, and automate data quality processes
- Build and manage data models and transformations using DBT (Data Build Tool)
- Monitor data pipelines and proactively identify data issues, inconsistencies, and failures
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to define data quality rules and metrics
- Implement data governance policies, standards, and best practices
- Ensure data lineage, traceability, and documentation are maintained
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve data quality issues in a timely manner
- Create dashboards and reports to track data quality KPIs
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering or data quality roles
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
- Hands-on experience with DBT for data transformation
- Solid understanding of ETL processes and data pipeline architecture
- Experience with data quality tools and frameworks
- Knowledge of Data Governance, data standards, and compliance practices
- Familiarity with relational and cloud-based databases (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
