About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Quality Analyst to join our dynamic Data & Analytics team at WebMD. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of our vast datasets. Your expertise will help optimize data pipelines, automate quality checks, and support the integration of artificial intelligence into our automation frameworks. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Business Intelligence, Marketing, and Sales to deliver actionable insights and uphold the highest standards of data quality. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, and AI, contributing to innovative healthcare solutions that impact millions of users worldwide.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a B.E. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline, with a minimum of four years of professional experience in data analysis and quality assurance. Proficiency in SQL, including advanced functions such as analytical, trending, and windowing techniques, is essential. Hands-on experience with traditional databases like MSSQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL, as well as columnar databases such as Vertica, Amazon Redshift, or similar platforms, is required. Candidates should have a strong background in data QA, ETL/ELT processes, and automation using Python or PySpark, with at least one to two years of relevant experience in automation frameworks for data validation, BI, and data modeling. Familiarity with AI integration into automation workflows is highly preferred.
Additional qualifications include experience working collaboratively with non-IT teams, a solid understanding of web analytics, KPIs, and reporting, and knowledge of ad stacks, email data, and related data sources such as ad servers, DMPs, and DSMs. Experience with regression testing automation, reporting tools like Tableau or Pentaho BI, and ETL tools such as Talend or Pentaho will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Perform statistical testing on large datasets to assess data quality and integrity, identifying anomalies and inconsistencies.
- Evaluate system performance and design to understand their impact on data accuracy and reliability.
- Collaborate with database developers and data engineers to improve data collection, storage, and processing workflows.
- Execute complex data queries to detect coding issues, validate data expectations, and perform data cleaning operations.
- Create, enhance, and maintain automation frameworks for data comparison, validation, and quality checks across multiple datasets.
- Integrate AI capabilities into automation workflows to enhance data validation processes and predictive analytics.
- Gather and analyze data from primary and secondary sources to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support business objectives.
- Prepare detailed reports and present findings to management, enabling informed decision-making and strategic planning.
- Document data processes, workflows, and quality assurance procedures to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
- Adhere to best practices and industry standards in data analysis, collection, and quality management.
- Stay current with emerging trends and advancements in data quality, automation, and AI integration to continuously improve processes.
