As a Data Ops Engineer within Koch Capabilities India, you will support Georgia‑Pacific’s Enterprise Data & Analytics team in designing, developing, and maintaining data operations capabilities that empower manufacturing, operations, supply chain, and commercial functions. You will help build foundational data systems and play a critical role in scaling Koch Global Services India as it grows.
Our Team
You will join an international team that partners closely with Georgia‑Pacific’s global engineers, data scientists, and plant operations teams. Together, the team designs and supports enterprise data lake solutions and time‑series data management capabilities.
What You Will Do
- Implement solutions that enhance reliability, accuracy, and completeness of automated data collection.
- Maintain and support PI Data Historian data collection software.
- Configure data communications with manufacturing systems using industry protocols (e.g., OPC).
- Develop user‑interface screens for data visualization, trending, and manufacturing process graphics.
- Implement and support data movement processes across systems, including AWS cloud‑based data lakes.
- Configure and support PI Interfaces and PI Connectors.
- Participate in rotational on‑call support and rotational shifts.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of industry experience supporting data operations or time‑series data systems.
- Experience with AVEVA OSI‑PI or similar time‑series historian platforms.
- Strong knowledge of PI tag configuration, PI DataLink reports, PI Builder, PI Interfaces, and PI Connectors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience creating and maintaining clear technical and user documentation.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with global peers and internal customers.
- Experience configuring asset hierarchies and AF Analytics.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Understanding of the Purdue OT/IT model, network segmentation, PLC/DCS communications.
- Skills in Python, SQL, AWS cloud services.
- Awareness of ISA‑95 standards.
- Experience building applications using AF SDK / PI SDK, PI Web Services, PI OLEDB.
- Experience with scripting and web development (Angular, Web API, .NET, PowerShell).
- This role includes rotational shifts and participation in an on‑call support rotation.
