Conceptual & Logical Modeling: Partner with business stakeholders to define entities and relationships. Translate these into logical models that represent business processes. Physical Modeling in Snowflake: Design physical schemas optimized for Snowflake's micro-partitioning. Implement Star Schemas, Snowflake Schemas, or Data Vault 2.0 where appropriate. dbt Development: Build, maintain, and document the modular transformation layer. Ensure all models follow the dbt Best Practices (e.g., using ref functions, ephemeral models, and proper materialization strategies). Optimization: Analyze query profiles and Snowflake metadata to identify bottlenecks. Refactor SQL and dbt models to reduce warehouse credit consumption and improve latency. Data Documentation & Lineage: Use dbt's documentation features and Snowflake's metadata to maintain a clear, searchable data catalog. Ensure data lineage is visible from source to BI tool. Testing & Quality: Implement automated testing via dbt-tests or Great Expectations to ensure data integrity and catch breaking changes in the pipeline. Experience: Ability to architect and model end-to-end data warehousing solutions and make the right choice of technology stack based on the use case. Drive projects end to end independently. Optimize new and current database systems. Experience in building solutions on DWH architectures. Experience in building ETL data pipeline, data ingestion frameworks and working across heterogenous data stores, data modeling, data management, analytical tools and languages. Ability to perform data profiling and data quality analysis. Ability to build dimensional data models applying best practices. Ability to understand data, strategize performance measures and provide business insights. Expertise in distributed systems and computing systems.
