Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Data Modeler who can work closely with data engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable and efficient data models. The candidate will own end-to-end data modelling activities, including logical and physical modelling.
Key Responsibilities
Own the complete data modelling lifecycle from requirement gathering to deployment and maintenance
Design, develop, and maintain logical and physical data models using Databricks and modern data platforms
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and convert them into data structures
Ensure data models align with governance standards and best practices
Document data models, metadata, and definitions for consistency and clarity
Optimize existing models for performance and scalability
Lead data validation and quality assurance processes
Act as the SME for data modelling within the domain
Support integration of new data sources into the data ecosystem
Primary Skills (Must Have)
Data Modelling (Dimensional Modelling) – Expert (50%)
Databricks – Expert (30%)
SQL – Expert (20%)
Erwin – Intermediate
Secondary Skills (Good to Have)
Lucidchart
SAP
Required Experience & Skills
Strong experience in logical and physical data modelling
Hands-on experience with Databricks or similar cloud platforms
Good understanding of data warehousing and lakehouse architecture
Experience in data governance, metadata management, and data quality
Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable data models
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Nice to Have
Experience in Manufacturing / Supply Chain domain
Exposure to regulated industries (Insurance/Financial Services)
Knowledge of reporting standards like IFRS or Solvency II
Experience with Agile tools like JIRA/Confluence
